At Charged Affairs, we provide a venue for new voices, rising experts, and tomorrow’s policymakers and shapers to offer fresh insights related to foreign affairs and national security. We publish opinions and analysis showcasing the expertise of YPFP’s members and participants in its special programs, particularly the Rising Experts Program. We are committed to helping YPFP’s talented members and volunteers to develop strong writing skills that allow them to clearly communicate impactful ideas and unique perspectives that may be under-represented in policy discussions.
Charged Affairs is managed by YPFP’s Publications Fellow in conjunction with an editorial staff of member volunteers from across the organization’s programs.
Joanna Di Scipio is the Lead Editor for Charged Affairs, and an Assistant Managing Editor with the Rising Experts Program. She also works as a Research Associate at the Institute for Defense Analyses based in Alexandria, Virginia.
