At Charged Affairs, we provide a venue for new voices, rising experts, and tomorrow’s policymakers and shapers to provide fresh insights related to foreign affairs and national security. We publish opinions and analysis showcasing the expertise of YPFP’s members and participants in its special programs, particularly the Rising Experts Program. We are committed to helping YPFP’s talented fellows and members to develop strong writing skills that allow them to clearly communicate impactful ideas and unique perspectives that may be under-represented in policy discussions.
Charged Affairs is managed by YPFP’s Publications Fellow in conjunction with an editorial staff of member volunteers from across the organization’s programs.
Miriam Roday is the Director of the Rising Experts Program and the 2023-2024 Publications Fellow at YPFP, where she has worked for several years to help young professionals develop their writing and analytical skills. You can find her profile here.
Joanna Di Scipio is the Lead Editor for Charged Affairs, and an Assistant Managing Editor with the Rising Experts Program. She also works as a Research Associate at the Institute for Defense Analyses based in Alexandria, Virginia.
