YPFP’s Charged Affairs blog showcases the perspectives and views of rising experts in foreign policy. Just as YPFP’s mission is to foster the next generation of foreign policy leaders, Charged Affairs’ mission is to develop our contributors into analytical, professional, and insightful writers bringing fresh perspectives to important foreign policy discussions.

We are now inviting YPFP members to publish on Charged Affairs.

We are looking for high-quality submissions and original analysis on issues related to the global economy, national security, politics, international development, and the environment.

Guidelines:

  • You must be a dues-paying member of YPFP.
  • Submissions should range between 600 and 800 words.
  • Pieces submitted for consideration can include: a short op-ed, relevant event summary, or even a short essay within a larger series.
  • Use hyperlinks rather than footnotes to back up all assertions of facts. We will give preference to authors who support their argument with empirical evidence.
  • Use active voice and precise language.
  • Send a Word document, not a PDF.

Send articles for consideration to ChargedAffairs@ypfp.org. In the body of your email, please include your Membership ID #, summarize the main argument and make a case for its timeliness and relevance to current events. Also include a short bio.
